The important food for baby chickens

Looking to get some cute, feathered friends? Congratulations on because one of the most rewarding experiences you’ll ever have is raising baby chickens. Still, don’t make the mistake of believing that every-age chickens eat the same sort of feed, because they certainly don’t!

There are two things baby chickens need to eat to develop into healthy happy adult chickens:

  • Access to clean water

Baby chickens should have access to fresh, clean water 24/7. They should be provided with this through a special chick waterer, which is designed to give them access to the water without sufficient room to fall in.

It is important that the water continues to be tested and that no manure or bedding has been kicked into the water and thus polluted it, so you may have to change the water quite often. But it’s going to pay off big time.

  • Access to starter Feed

The primary food source for baby chickens is starter feed, which is fed specifically formulated to provide the right nutrients for developing chickens. Chick-starter anatomy begins with the most essential nutrient-protein.

Protein is the second most important nutrient for young chicks, alongside water, both plant and animal. This star bodybuilder promotes the development of muscles, tissues, and organs, that’s basically what makes your little ones grow.

Feel free to give some tiny worms to your young chicks plucked after a homemade protein from a spring or summer shower-nature! Carbohydrates, fats, and vitamins and minerals constitute the rest of the cast of nutrients your growing baby chickens need.

Test the starter feed again to make sure that no manure or bedding has tainted the food-fresh is best!
